Fact sheet to surfing in Scotland

November 14, 2007 on 6:23 pm | In Surfing |

For all of you out there unaware of this; surfing is great in Scotland in winter! The water does come with a nip, but looking at the magic waves I’d say it’s worth it! And the cold water is a reason why O’Neill Highland Open, www.oneilleurope.com/highlandopen/, is back in  April 2008 with their prestigious 6-star event. Alex Wade does frequent updates on the event on his blog; http://timesonline.typepad.com/surf_nation/. Book your travel for this now! Have a look at this image from the 2007 event;

I have only included 20 of Scotland’s beaches in the surf fact sheet; surfs-up-in-scotland.pdf, but we all know there are hundreds more, but just to give you a taster. The beach most frequently used by O’Neill Highland Open, Thurso East, is included in the fact sheet for all the pro surfers out there. Beautiful place!

 Enjoy the winter waves!
