Mountainbiking in Glentress

July 17, 2007 on 10:09 am | In Mountain Biking |

Finished off the weekend with a great session in Glentress. If you have done the “Spooky Woods” descent, top of the red route, you’ll know what I mean with having a “spooky grin” - we all had that after doing the section twice! Spooky has got some excellent rounded jumps (not too scary) where you get just a perfect speed to feel both safe and ecstatic. Here’s a video clip of the nice jumps from from Sunday night.

Spooky also has three quite big table top jumps at the start - very scary - but I find you can go over them quite slow and not as Neil in this clip.

I’m not by any means either fast or good so for me Spooky really is the perfect place to learn. I love Spooky!

Watch a podcast of mountainbiking in Scotland.

I reckon that Spooky Wood has to be one of the best runs in Scotland, it’s certainly up there on a par with the 1300ft of downhill at Golspie.

A whole lot of work getting up … so much fun coming back down!

Hey, great video Glentress looks fantastic.

Having done the rat race at the weekend: http://www.ratraceadventure.com/ and managed to make it down the steps if Edinburgh’s Old Town will make Glentress my next stop…

Just shows what a great environment we have in Scotland from the middle of our cities to the hills and mountains for adventure sports. I would certainly recommend the rat race to all!

Can’t wait to get our the office again and on the bike…

Sandy, the rat race sounds like a quality event! I’ve got a few friends that do it and they always come back from it buzzing.

As for me, I was making use of the Golspie MTB trails again this weekend and can still feel my legs burning.

What a riot of a place, you guys have to get up here!
