Ben Lomond on a clear day
July 25, 2007 on 12:20 pm | In Hillwalking |

We climbed Ben Lomond yesterday -the most southerly of the 284 Munros. What a fantastic day out! We walked up the back, past Ptarmigan, and then down the the front. Clear blue skies, sunshine and many happy faces.
Our walking guide was Dorothy from http://www.cndoscotland.com/ - she taught us all about the flora and fauna. It was great.
Here is a film of our view from the top:

Wow Jenny this looks fabulous. I am coming up to the Scottish Highlands in September and can’t wait to conquer a few Munros!

Hi Jenny, Thought you’d appreciate this shot of Rob and I having finally made it to the corrie on the shoulder of Beinne Eighe. We walked the glen path between this munro and neighbouring Liathach in gorgeous sunshine on Sunday – what a way to spend my birthday! I managed to take a tumble as I was obsessively scanning the hillside for deer but it was amazing. After righting myself and ignoring the cheeky comments from my boyfriend, I was rewarding by spotting a lazy looking bird of prey – possibly an eagle?! There were a few nutters clearly visible on the ridge of the Beinn but we found our route taxing enough for beginners! We passed a few people along the way from Germany, Scotland, England and Israel – all making the most of the great weather. Loch Maree is one of my favourite lochs in Scotland so this walk was perfect. I’ve just spotted a shorter version on www.visitscotland.com/walking - darn!
